Tutorial: Crane, built using Matador #4, 409

In the coming weeks I will post the first model creation tutorial. We will digitally build the complete model of a crane (in reality we needed Matador #4). The corresponding image from the Matador instructions you see in this small scan (from a manual, dated 1969). We will create the building blocks in LDRAW, export them in POV-Ray and finally show how to animate them.

Dutch Advertising Paper

This Dutch advertising paper seems to be a rare piece. I bought it together with a bunch of old Matador parts. The original box didn’t come with this small set, but the set came also with a few original green bricks that were manufactured in the 30′s.
Time frame: 1930 – 1935.

Format: Four pages, 660 x 1000 pixel

You can download them here:

Matador.tc in English and German

I have added a translation module. matador.tc is now available in German and English. I am in the process of translating the pages and hope I will be able to offer two languages throughout the site.

Simply click on your preferred language in the Set your language section.

Try it out here and switch to German.

From the Archive: Gameset ‘Seeschlange’

This image is taken from a Matador sales folder, undated. Estimated ca.1935. ‘Seeschlange’ is basically a sea-snake – a game using a 8×8 holes board.
A rare set today.
